Cultist Aspiring Champion
"Sanity is for the weak."
Aspiring Champions are individuals who have offered their bodies and spirits to Chaos. Their lives are an endless series of battles, raids and quests. As they serve Chaos, they become increasingly changed through mutations granted by their Patron. Eventually, their road to power ends either in being reduced to a mindless and formless Chaos Spawn or raised to Daemonhood as an immortal and powerful Daemon Prince.
Tactics
When attached to Cultists or Chaos Space Marines an Aspiring Champion provides a bonus to health. The Berserk Fury ability can add damage, but also increases the damage taken, so it should be used by squads not taking fire. It does reduce morale damage so it may also be useful when being attacked with flamers or Ranger Squads. Infiltrated squads can be used to position the Aspiring Champion in a good location to be sacrificed for a Bloodthirster.
If a Chaos player intends to make extended use of Cultists, Chaos Space Marines, or Raptors throughout Tier 2, Purge the Weak is a requirement. It grants an extra 100 hitpoints to every member of the squad as long as the Aspiring Champion is alive, a necessity for the incredibly fragile Cultists. Unfortunately, the Cultist Aspiring Champion does not gain from the personal bonuses of Purge the Weak. He also does not receive the weapon upgrades from the Chaos Armoury.
