Plasma Generator
The Plasma Generator is your main means of acquiring the Power resource. Once built, the Plasma Generator can be upgraded a number of times to increase the rate at which you can accumulate Power. A Tau Cadre Headquarters can only support a limited number of Plasma Generators. Once destroyed by enemies, Plasma Generators will damage any nearby units or buildings.
Tactics
Build your first Plasma Generator immediately after completing construction of the Tau Barracks and another when resources allow it. Most Tau players will not require more than four total (unless no slag deposits are available). Since Plasma Generators are the preferred target of enemies who rush early in the game, it is generally a good idea to build Plasma Generators behind the Cadre Headquarters where they are easier to defend. Do not build Plasma Generators in preference to Thermo Plasma Generators because Thermo Plasma Generators do not decay. Some may even consider putting it at the maximum extent of the control area, to make it particularly hard to find and ensuring the rushing enemies will have to spend even more time under your fire.
