Obliterators
"We.... Must.... Obliterate!!"
Once ordinary Chaos marines who contracted the obliterator virus, they are now fused with their armour and charged with daemonic energies, these leviathans form a variety of different weapon types to deal with any who stand against them. Ungodly tough and able to generate enormous amounts of firepower, they are also plodding and slow. Although too big to be easily transported, they can enter battle by Deep Striking and can also gain the ability to teleport.
Tactics
Obliterators can be described with two words: slow and tough. They are amongst the slowest units in the game and amongst the toughest with large amounts of HP each and having heavy high infantry armour. They are also immune to morale damage and aren't knocked down easily. They deal incredible amounts of damage to infantry with excellent range and handle most vehicles quite respectably. Their selective weaponry means that they will be effective against everything: Assault Cannon and Plasma Gun on infantry and Lascannon on vehicles and buildings.
However, Obliterators aren't invincible as they do near negligible amounts of melee damage. This, combined with their slow foot speed, means they often will be tied up in melee combat with scouts and Guardians as a method of keeping them under control. Although the high health of the Obliterators means they will eventually win against most ranged squads in melee, it still prevents them from leveraging their impressive ranged firepower. In addition, their low health regeneration rate means that dedicated melee specialists will deal a large blow to their survivability.
Good micromanagement is needed to maximize Obliterators. Four things are particularly noteworthy to watch:
First, avoid teleporting them into the middle of a fire fight where they will be initially vulnerable and may attract a lot of attention.
Secondly, be sure to immediately teleport them away from battles that are lost as the teleport takes time to start up and even if it is successful, the Obliterator squad may still be caught due to their slow foot speed.
Thirdly, try to keep the Chaos Sorcerer next to the Obliterator squad. The Chaos Sorcerer's Chains of Torment ability can be used to keep melee attackers off the Obliterator squad or he can directly engage the attackers himself to provide a distraction.
Finally, if possible, initially Deep Strike the Obliterator squad next to the Daemon Pit, reinforce them to max capacity, and then return them to the Daemon pit so that the squad can be deepstruck fully reinforced.
