Nobz Squad
"Nobz ready fer bashin'."
Nobz are experienced units that stand much taller and have greater strength than the standard Ork. The bizarre psychic phenomenon of the Waaagh! causes those Orks who are successful in battle to become much larger and stronger than other boyz, a fact that grants them inherent authority over the "runtier" Orks. Occasionally Nobz will gather in groups and rampage across the battlefield. They also serve as the Warboss's bodyguard.
Charge Bonus: once within 7 range of their target when on Assault stance, Nobz gain a +30% movement bonus to their current base speed, enabling them to quickly close the distance with other units into melee.
Note that Da Boyz Hut has a 20% production bonus, giving Nobz Squads a build time of 32 s.
In Soulstorm, Nobz use two slots in transports.
Tactics
Nobz Squads are an essential part of any Ork army once they become available, as they are the most durable melee units in the game behind Assault Terminators. Their melee damage is a bit low, especially compared to Berzerkers or upgraded Banshees, so the most effective use for Nobz is to simply let them act as a green meat shield for your more powerful ranged units, particularly the fragile Shoota Boyz and Flash Gitz. Their high durability also make Nobz Squads ideal for attaching your commanders to.
Once upgraded with Power Claws, Nobz Squads can do massive damage to any target, although the setup time on this weapon make it ill-suited to chasing down fleeing infantry. If your opponent lacks significant melee units that would stand and fight the Nobz, such as the Imperial Guard or Tau who have gone the path of Mont'Ka, save the resources for other uses and leave the Nobz with Choppas.
