Ogryns
"Duhhhhh......yeah?"
Orgryns are one of the abhuman races deemed acceptable by the Imperium and spared extermination. Their strength and toughness make them invaluable additions to the Imperial Guard. However, their intelligence is low and they require human leaders to be effective.
Ogryns can capture Strategic Points, Critical Points and Relics. They also occupy two slots inside of bunkers and Chimeras. This prevents them from entering or traveling to Listening Posts which have only one bunker slot.
Tactics
As Ogryns are the Imperial Guards only dedicated melee unit, they have the highest priority for attaching a Priest commander. Priests grant their Righteous Fury ability to the squad giving a significant boost to DPS and speed, and increases the squad's overall morale and health further.
The firepower and durability of an Ogryn squad cannot be understated. Their durability and incredible strength allow them to operate independently of your main army. By charging into an enemy base and activating a Priest's Fanaticism ability, the Ogryn squad can destroy an impressive amount before the ability wears off. They can even go toe to toe with a Dreadnought and win, although using Fanaticism in this case to keep the squad's morale intact would be good.
Ogryns receive no bonuses from the Commissar's Execute ability, but they still have their morale restored.
Another important factor in using Ogryns effectively is that Ogryn melee attacks have 100% accuracy. This means that when the Ogryn is not doing a special knockback attack, you will be guaranteed to do your damage, which is more comforting than the large reload time and low accuracy of, say, Nob Power Klaws.
Remember to be careful when using Ogryns with Basilisks. The friendly fire from the Basilisks can blast your Ogryns just as well as the enemy troops.
Using a Chimera transport for your Ogryns can allow for sneak attacks behind enemy lines in an expedient manner as well as providing cover from ranged fire.
