Lord Destroyer
A Necron Lord who has been mounted on a Destroyer chassis for increased mobility. A secondary commander in the Necron force capable of controlling vehicles and creating stasis fields.
Tactics
The Lord Destroyer can be used not only to eliminate vehicular threats by possessing them, but also turns them against their owner. While unable to possess relic vehicles, there are a multitude of other good vehicles to possess. However, the attempt to possess an enemy vehicle can be quite dangerous, as the range of the possess ability is rather short, it takes a reasonable amount of time to complete, and the Lord Destroyer has relatively little health. Using stasis before attempting to possess an enemy vehicle can greatly increase the chances of success.
Possessing an enemy transport can be an especially useful target for the mobility-challenged Necrons. If the target vehicle is unoccupied, the Necron forces now have a transport vehicle they can use to quickly zip troops around the battlefield, something their army lacks. If the vehicle still has troops inside, those troops are ejected onto the battlefield where they can be cut down by Necron forces.
Overall, the Lord Destroyer is not an especially good vehicle. He is weak for a commander even by T1 standards and he is available at T3. Necrons win fights through attrition, so the ability to remove targets from damage doesn't massively work in the Necron's favor unless they are simply overwhelmed. And their best ability is the chance to trade themselves for a BETTER enemy vehicle. Or at least make them waste those resources.
Judicious use of the stasis field can help sway combat by allowing your troops to concentrate fire easier, and it has a relatively short cooldown. However, for its cap, cost, and overall fragility, it is difficult to justify purchasing the Lord Destroyer.
