Kronus Necron Lord

"..." *Metallic clanking*

The Kronus Necron Lord led the Necrons under his command millennium ago before slumbering for millions of years as the galaxy repopulated with new life. Now he reawakens to once again harvest the living for the C'tan.

This particular Necron Lord is completely unable to talk. Thus, it is hard to find out anything about his personality, or if he even has one. All of his, shall we say, public relations is performed by a certain Pariah.

Tactics

Unlike the other Dark Crusade campaign heroes, the Kronus Necron Lord starts the campaign every bit as powerful as his regular version (losing only a bit of melee damage against HQ buildings). This gives the player more freedom in selecting wargear, allowing the selection of wargear to be more carefree. Fully upgraded and decked out with an array of upgrades from the Forbidden Archive, the Kronus Necron Lord is nigh-unstoppable, almost capable of taking on entire armies all on his own.

The Kronus Necron Lord is already a good harasser, so getting Death Mask to detect invisible targets and bases along with Death Shroud to better chase fleeing troops can make him even better at this task. Heart of Darkness, when combined with Phylactery, gives him an amazing 18 HP/sec health regeneration and half ranged damage. This enables the Kronus Necron Lord to remain in the fight for a very long time.

The Necron Lord is possibly the most powerful hero unit in the whole game. With all his wargear and artifacts, he is almost unstoppable. One good tactic is to teleport him alone into the enemy base to wreak havoc and destruction while you use the rest of your army for a second opponent. With the artifacts Phylactery for health regeneration, Lightning Field for melee power, and Essence of the Nightbringer for emergency health recovery, he can often singlehandedly crush an enemy base.

Effects Time around the Kronus Necron Lord slows down and enemy units within the Area of Effect get their movement speed reduced by 40%. The ability only lasts for 15 s, but refreshes every 2 s until 18 s, potentially extending the ability to 33 s long for a single target or slowing new units that fall within the area of effect during the refresh.

Also has a passive movement speed reduction of 10% to all enemy units within a radius of 5 from the Kronus Necron Lord.

Effects The Necron Lord and any troops within the area of effect become invulnerable for 10 seconds and gain 10 health regeneration per second. The health regeneration effect is tripled by the Phylactery for the Necron Lord only. During this time the Necron Lord and any other effected troops are also unable to attack enemy units.

Lightning Field

Bug: The charge limit for Lightning Field is not implemented in the game engine. Given enough time the Necron Lord can charge the ability high enough to instantly kill any unit in the game.

Effects 90% of the damage taken by the Necron Lord in melee is reflected back and also inflicted on the enemy. All of the damage taken by the Lord in melee adds by the ability's charge along with 60% of the damage inflicted by the Necron Lord in melee. The ability can store a maximum of 900 points of damage. The stored energy can be unleashed as a storm of lighting in a circle around the target when the ability has reached at least a 20% charge. When cast, the ability deals a flat 315 damage to all enemy targets at maximum charge, although damage scales smoothly as the ability charges up.

Effects Creates a Solar Pulse on the targeted location. Enemy units within its Area of Effect have their sight range reduced to 0.1 and are unable to use ranged weapons. Also, infiltrated units within 15 of the Solar Pulse are detected. The Solar Pulse lasts for 20 seconds.

The Necron Lord cannot resurrect troops beyond 4 over the current max squad population when casting this ability.
