Archon Tahril

"These crude and foolish armies know nothing of strategy. If they see a wall they attack it. If they see an army, they charge at it. They will be too busy with each other to notice us, or if they do, it will be too late."

While the other warring factions of Kaurava all have some stake in conquering the system, the Dark Eldar of the Black Heart Kabal have arrived merely for their own amusement. They will cause whatever havoc and destruction they can, then leave once they have sated their bloodlust and captured sufficient slaves to enjoy back on Commoragh. Although their eventual departure should provide comfort to any survivors of their raids, it is unlikely the devastation they bring will leave any hope of rebuilding. The ancient and powerful Dark Eldar Asdrubael Vect is the official leader of these vile forces, but Archon Tahril is the commander on the field and, as any proper Dark Eldar would, hopes to find an opportunity to take Vect's place during the campaign of terror.

Tactics

All of the usual Archon tactics apply to Tahril but he comes with the added bonus of an extra 700 hitpoints, almost two thirds more health. Although the Archon and Incubus retinue tend to be a bit fragile early on, this extra health allows Tahril to charge straight into the fray without worrying about a sudden demise.

The Incubus Blade Armor makes a good first choice for wargear because, although Tahril is more durable than his non-campaign counterpart, the Incubi surrounding him are not. This research will allow them to keep up in the same extended firefights that the buffed Tahril can. In addition, this research improves the health and melee damage of Elite Incubi, an Honor Guard unit found in Vyasastan on Kaurava I. Incubi Torture Helms also affects both regular Incubi and Elite Incubi, making it another good pick once that Honor Guard unit is acquired.

Haywire Bombs provides Tahril with anti-vehicular firepower right out of the gate, giving him much greater versatility. As anti-vehicular Honor Guard are only available on Kaurava III (a Raider and a Razorwing Scourge Squad), this will likely prove necessary very quickly if that isn't the first planet raided.

Due to a pair of bugs in the wargear, the Trophy Rack only affects the damage of the Agonizer and not any of the other melee weapons. It still provides the health bonus regardless of Tahril's weapon.
